Although few details are known about the full track, footage from the action sequence features the Pune hip-hop star’s inimitable voice
With the release of the latest Bollywood actioner Baby John starring Varun Dhawan, it wasn’t just star actor Salman Khan’s cameo that has audiences cheering. Agent Bhai Jaan (as is revealed in the cameo) appears to quickfire rap bars from Pune hip-hop star MC Stan.
While not much is known about whether there’s a full track that will be added to the Baby John soundtrack, it does mark Stan’s second Bollywood song appearance after leading the title track off thriller movie Farrey from 2023. This, however, also marks Stan’s team-up with Khan, who first became acquainted during the Pune rapper’s winning stint on reality show Bigg Boss season 16 in early 2023.
While MC Stan released his “Tujhya Aaichi Gaand” and has spent most of 2024 teasing his upcoming album Mehfeel, he also joined Badshah’s Ek Tha Raja album (“Drinks On Me”) and King’s Monopoly Moves with “F*ck What They Say” this year.
This Baby John song, used during the movie’s climactic sequence, is picturized on Khan’s special appearance in the film. Khan is seen taking down goons in an action scene – which fans have pointed out is similar to a sequence from Telugu movie Pushpa – The Rise – with MC Stan’s powerful vocals intensifying the excitement.
While fans may await MC Stan’s song on the Baby John soundtrack, the film – a Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil movie Theri – prominently features Indo-American hip-hop artist and songwriter Raja Kumari on the title track “Beast Mode,” composed by Thaman S. The soundtrack also includes hitmakers Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal lead “Hazaar Baar,” Rajasthani powerhouse vocalist Mame Khan on “Bandobast,” Vishal Mishra on “Pikley Pom” and “Nain Matakka” featuring singers Diljit Dosanjh and Dhee.
