Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2013 Lineup Announcement

Partial lineup out. World music superstar Manu Chao makes India debut at the fourth edition. Meshuggah, Textures and TesseracT also on the bill

After filling in the blanks all week, the partial lineup of the 2013 edition of the four-city Bacardi NH7 Weekender festival is now out. This year’s performances include a host of international artists ”“ from prog metal bands such as Meshuggah (Sweden), Textures (Netherlands) and TesseracT (UK), to electro artists Benga (UK), Michal Menert (US) and Simian Mobile Disco (UK) and Latin alternative act Manu Chao La Ventura ”“ across Pune, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Kolkata. 

While Dutch prog metallers Textures return to India for the third time [following performances in Bengaluru in 2009 and at IIT, Delhi in 2010], TesseracT and Meshuggah, who last toured India together for the Great Indian Rock festival in 2010, will return for a second India gig.

Electro-rock act MUTEMATH, Pakistani singer-songwriter Arooj Aftab and Welsh reggae metal band Skindred are also part of the Weekender lineup that was announced on August 1st. More artists, venue details and ticket prices are yet to be announced for each edition, which take place between October 18th and 20th in Pune, on November 23rd and 24th in Bengaluru, November 30th and December 1st in New Delhi and December 14th and 15th in Kolkata.

Indian artists confirmed to perform at the festival include Mumbai pop rock act Zero [NH7 Weekender has come to be associated with an annual reunion for Zero and continues to be one of the most awaited performances at the festival; Zero played a secret set at the first edition of the festival in Pune and also performed at the Delhi edition last year], folk band The Raghu Dixit Project, hardcore band Scribe, blues band Soulmate, EDM artist Dualist Inquiry, trip hop act Sulk Station, folk-fusion act Papon and the East India Company and thrash metal band Devoid, among others.
