After years of steadying their foothold as one of the only metal festivals in India, Bangalore Open Air 2024 announced the full lineup for a two-day edition on February 9th and 10th in Bengaluru.
The forthcoming festival will mark the India debut of Swedish metal band In Flames. Thrash metal veterans Kreator, who headlined the very first edition of BOA in 2012, make their return 12 years later and also following them are Polish death metal band Decapitated, who last performed in India in 2011.
Swedish black metallers Watain will also make their India debut next year at the festival’s 10th edition, alongside Swiss heavy metallers Burning Witches and Spanish metal act Ankor.
Indian metal bands taking the stage at Bangalore Open Air include Kryptos (playing a 25th anniversary show), Mumbai metallers Zygnema, Hyderabad/Bengaluru act Godless, Kolkata metal band Chronic Xorn, plus local acts including Moral Collapse and Speedtrip. Bands who qualify to compete at the Indian subcontinent leg of Wacken Metal Battle are also expected to be added to the BOA lineup.
Often a day-long event for the past few years, Bangalore Open Air has switched things up in previous editions, hosting a massive edition in 2013 and a full seven days of gigs including the main open-air event in 2015.
Tickets, starting from ₹3,500 are on sale now via BookMyShow. Day-wise schedules and more venue details are expected in the coming months.
