Barbra Streisand has announced her first-ever recording for a television series. The song “Love Will Survive” is the end title for the upcoming Sky and Peacock original series, The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Composed by Hans Zimmer in collaboration with Kara Talve and Walter Afanasieff, the song features lyrics by Charlie Midnight. Streisand is backed on the recording by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by William Ross. The single arrives on April 25, ahead of the series May 2 premiere date.

“Because of the rise in antisemitism around the world today, I wanted to sing ‘Love Will Survive’ in the context of this series, as a way of remembering the six-million souls who were lost less than 80 years ago,” Streisand said in a statement. “And also to say that even in the darkest of times, the power of love can triumph and endure.”

The series stars Harvey Keitel, Melanie Lynskey, Jonah Hauer-King, Anna Próchniak, and Jonas Nay. According to a synopsis, the show centers on Lali, a Slovakian Jew who was deported to concentration camp Auschwitz in 1942.

Lali (Hauer-King), is made to be one of the Tätowierer (tattooist) who must ink the identification numbers on prisoners’ arms. He falls in love with Gita (Próchniak) when they meet as he is tattooing her prisoner number, and their love carries them through the horrors as they work to keep each other alive. The series then follows Lali (Keitel) some 60 years later when he is in his eighties. He encounters aspiring writer Heather Morris (Lynskey), with whom he recounts his story after becoming widowed, and confronts the traumas and also relives falling in love in the most impossible, darkest of places and circumstances.
