Ben Howard Announces Debut India Shows in May 2024

The British singer-songwriter, who released his fifth album 'Is It?' has announced two shows in Mumbai and Bengaluru

British singer-songwriter and folk-pop artist Ben Howard will make his way to India for the first time, performing on May 17th in Mumbai and on May 18th in Bengaluru. Tickets are now available via SkillBox.

The BRIT award-winning artist — who released his new album Is It? last year — announced the shows via social media, part of his tour through Australia and New Zealand in May and June, followed by Europe and North America shows from June to August. He said about the upcoming shows, “Partial world tour is go!”

Tickets and venue details are expected to be announced next week, according to the artist. Howard arguably had his first global breakthrough with the 2011 album Every Kingdom, a definitive record for the vulnerable but powerful singer-songwriter style that also dipped into alt-rock and folk-pop. With albums like I Forget Where We Were (2014), Noonday Dream (2018) and Collections from the Whiteout (2021), Howard gained a following for songs including “Conrad” and “Promise,” the latter from Every Kingdom.

There was a more sonically diverse and fluid style that spilled out with his latest album Is It?, which came out in June 2023. Howard said of the album in his bio, “It’s actually mostly a guitar record, but there are some nice additions. We bought an old harmonium at the beginning of the trip which made its way onto most tracks. I was very much stuck in stuttered delay and synth-led guitar patterns.”
