Bengaluru is set to witness the debut edition of the sxene, a one-of-a-kind event organized by city-based artist collective RECK, which takes place on November 17th at The Cave Skatepark. RECK founder and multi-instrumentalist, Akshay Deokuliar says, “The sxene is offbeat gigs not at traditional venues like restaurants and pubs.”

On the music front, attendees will be able to catch Chennai alt rockers The F16s as well as the debut performance of Deokuliar’s act DE”¢O accompanied by bassist Harshit ”˜HashBass’ Misra and keyboardist Bharath Kumar (both of whom are part of live electronica act DCF_Shapes). Bengaluru’s leading tattoo artist Mykel Kumar will be manning the tattoo station at the event for those who wish to get inked.
The sxene also follows a strict no guest list policy and pay their artists before the scheduled performance. Deokuliar explains, “We strongly believe that guest lists are a huge part of the problem in the scene today and its time we created a culture where no one gets free shit and everyone pays to hear great music.” He adds, “Everyone will be buying a ticket from our core team, to our volunteers, sponsors, partners and influencers.”
