Singer gifts fans with video for 'Lemonade' standout
Beyoncé celebrated her 35th birthday Sunday by gifting her fans with the video of “Hold Up,” a standout from the singer’s Lemonade. The video originally premiered as part of her new LP’s accompanying HBO/Tidal visual album, but Beyoncé has now isolated the Best Female Video VMA-winning segment as an official YouTube upload.
At the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Beyoncé reimagined her baseball bat-wielding “Hold Up” performance on the Madison Square Garden stage as part of a show-stealing 15-minute medley that also showcased her Lemonade songs “Pray You Catch Me,” “Sorry,” “Don’t Hurt Yourself” and “Formation,” which took home Video of the Year. Beyoncé won a total of eight awards at the 2016 ceremony.
