Bi-Annual Music Festival Fields of Love Returns This Week

Producer-DJs such as Scotland’s Grum and Jerome Isma Ae from Germany will headline the third edition in Hyderabad

There’s hip-hop and techno at large on offer, simultaneously, at the third edition of Hyderabad’s Fields of Love music festival, taking place on September 22nd from noon to midnight.

The festival’s co-organizer Anupam Raj, a seasoned DJ in the Hyderabad dance music circuit since 1999, says it’s always been about “bringing in people with different tastes of music under one space.” The forthcoming edition features Scottish house music producer Grum, German trance/techno-infused house artist Jerome Isma Ae and hip-hop sets by seasoned Indian DJs such as Kan-i and Ivan.

Held at the city’s rising venue space Prism Club and Kitchen, Fields of Love also includes a flea market that opens at noon. Raj adds, “Music workshops on didgeridoo, handpan and electronic music production will be conducted in the afternoon.” While the hip-hop stage is poolside, the electronica stage is inside the club, from 6 pm onwards. The lineup also includes deep house artist Falko 33, rappers such as Venom and Street Violater and more.

Where the festival’s inaugural edition in 2018 hosted singer-songwriter Arpit Chourey and indie band The Ragamuffins alongside DJs and hip-hop acts, the second edition in February this year scaled up to two days and featured younger talent such as producers Kalmi and Shri, alongside local artists. This time around, Fields of Love also travels to Bengaluru on September 21st as well, presenting a part of the Hyderabad lineup, including headliners Grum and Jerome Isma Ae.

Fields of Love 3.0 takes place at Prism, Hyderabad on September 22nd. Entry: Rs 1,000. Tickets here. The Bengaluru edition takes place on September 21st at Spice Terrace, JW Marriott. Event details here.
