Big Bang’s Taeyang and BTS’ Jimin Drop Sleek Teaser for ‘Vibe’

Dressed in sharp black suits, the pop superstars offer us brief snippets of the choreography and lyrics

Last week, Big Bang’s Taeyang announced he would be joining forces with BTS member Jimin for a new single titled “Vibe,” and as the release date of one of the most iconic collaborations in K-pop’s history approaches, we’ve all been dying to know more. The iconic singer-songwriter and producer finally unveiled more about his track via a video teaser which dropped this morning.

The 18-second clip sees Taeyang and Jimin bathed in spotlights and donning sharp black suits in addition to the other looks we’ve seen from teaser photos. The pop superstars also offer us brief snippets of the choreography and lyrics as they sing, “You know we got that vibe,” before the clip ends with them standing together on a massive platform, stoic but ready to jump into action.

“Vibe,” which seems to be a smooth R&B and pop blend, was co-written by Taeyang and singer-songwriter Vince and co-composed by Taeyang, Vince, Jimin, The Black Label’s Teddy Park, Kush and 24. The track is set to drop this Friday, January 13th at 2 PM KST (10:30 AM IST.)

The single’s official announcement came a few days after Taeyang announced he would be moving to The Black Label after spending over 16 years at YG Entertainment. Fans already had an inkling that Taeyang would be working with Jimin thanks to now-deleted photographs the Big Bang vocalist had shared on Instagram–the black and white images featured Taeyang at his recording studio with a mystery artist who fans had deduced was indeed the BTS member. At the time, Taeyang had captioned the post with a simple ‘#2023’ and only tagged his new agency, The Black Label.

Meanwhile, this will be Jimin’s second solo collaboration project outside of BTS’ activities. The first was the 2022 track “With You” with singer Ha Sungwoon, an original soundtrack number for the Korean drama Our Blues.
