It’s 11 pm when we sit down with Mumbai hard rock band Blakc, at their guitarist Anish Menon’s home in Santacruz. Vocalist Shawn Pereira has traveled all the way from Vasai, while guitarist Reinhardt Dias and bassist Roop Thomas have come in after working late in South Mumbai. When we grill them about their gig at Harley Rock Riders Season IV at IIM, Ahmedabad [along with dance punk trio BLEK and the IIM Band] on August 31st, the band immediately recalls their last trip to the state in 2008 for Ragna Rock 2008, the annual cultural festival of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology [DA-IICT]Â in Gandhinagar.
Blakc played a two-hour set in Gandhinagar, getting all kinds of high by the end of the gig. While their set at IIM, Ahmedabad won’t be as long, they intend to bring the house, in this case, campus down again.Â
