Watch Blink-182 Bring Rousing ‘Bored to Death’ to ‘Colbert’
New look pop-punk trio also delivers bonus performance of “What’s My Age Again?”
Blink-182Â cut through the malaise with a bombastic performance of “Bored to Death” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Monday.
The retooled pop-punk trio ”” with Matt Skiba on guitar and vocals ”” surged through the California track, moving nimbly between its fraught post-punk verse and deafening, dazzling, stadium-sized chorus.
Despite the new look and album, Blink-182 also offered up an internet exclusive treat for longtime fans, delivering a punchy rendition of their Enema of the State classic, “What’s My Age Again?”
Blink-182 released California July 1st, and the album has since topped the Billboard 200 chart, ending the nine-week reign of Drake’s Views. California marks Blink’s seventh LP and first without founding guitarist Tom DeLonge, who split with the group after various disagreements over time commitments and other projects.
Blink-182 will be on the road in support of California throughout the summer and into early fall. All American Rejects will open through August 10th and All Time Low will perform until October 1st; A Day to Remember will serve as support throughout the trek.
