Blink-182 Reflect on Enduring Friendships and Brushes with Death on ‘One More Time’

The band also shared "More Than You Know," from their upcoming LP, One More Time...

Blink-182’s reunited classic lineup are finally ready to start sharing some more new music from their first album together in 12 years, with two new songs arriving today, “One More Time” and “More Than You Know.”

“One More Time” finds Blink indulging in a bit of endearing, well-earned pop-punk nostalgia. In the song, the band reflects on their splits and reunions over the years, acknowledging the strain that often falls on long-term relationships while also wishing it wasn’t always brushes with death that brought everyone back together. “I miss you, took time but I admit,” Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge sing together, “It still hurts even after all these years/And I know that next time ain’t always gonna happen/I gotta say I love you while we’re here.”

“One More Time” arrives with a music video, directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada, which aptly pairs the song with some favorite Blink-182 memories. As the band performs, the background switches to old settings featured in Blink videos of yesterday, while the end boasts a sweet montage of old home video footage.

Along with “One More Time,” Blink-182 shared “More Than You Know,” which finds Blink cranking up the guitars while maintaining a high level of emotional vulnerability and angst. “I don’t feel pain, but I feel more than you’d ever know,” goes the chorus. “I don’t feel shame, I don’t have highs but I’ve got some lows.”

The two songs arrive just days after Blink-182 announced their new album, One More Time…, which is set to arrive on Oct. 20. To accompany the announcement, the band shared a four-minute trailer for an upcoming interview with Zane Lowe that included snippets of some new songs, the title-track, “Anthem Part 3,” and “You Don’t Know What You’ve Got.”

One More Time… marks the first Blink-182 album with Hoppus, DeLonge, and Travis Barker since 2011’s Neighborhoods. DeLonge departed the group in 2015 to embark on some extraterrestrial endeavors, and during his absence, Blink recorded two albums — California and Nine with guitarist Matt Skiba. The classic lineup announced their reunion last October and shared a new track, “Edging” (which will appear on One More Time…).

Blink-182 recorded most of One More Time… over the course of their reunion tour this year. The group is currently in the midst of a European and U.K. run that was briefly interrupted when Barker flew home to be with wife, Kourtney Kardashian, as she recovered from emergency fetal surgery.
