American indie band from Portland, Oregon, Blitzen Trapper, has announced an early Christmas this year. The band announced a free download release of their new single, ‘Christmas Is Coming Soon,’ based on small-town America and a hick Santa.
Blitzen Trapper’s singer Eric Earley says that the gentle holiday track “is about the real Santa Claus, who we all know lives in southern Oregon in a double wide trailer and drinks too much peppermint schnapps from a straw.” It’s pretty fitting for a band whose name references one of Santa’s trusty reindeer.
