The F16s, Daniel Waples, The Derelicts and more will head to a farm near Mangaluru for the three-day ‘transformative festival’
Following their first edition in November last year in Agumbe, Karnataka, Bloom In Green Festival will scale up with its 2019 version, held between December 21st and 23rd at Varanashi Organic Farms, near Mangaluru.
Pegged as an eco-friendly, “transformational festival,” Bloom In Green is also positioning itself as an alcohol-free festival. A statement by the organizers says, “Bloom in Green Festival (BIG) is an eclectic mix of art, music and culture. The event will feature various hands-on art, music and sustainability-related workshops, on-site art projects for attendees, symposium on ecology topics, adventure activities, healing sessions, flea market and live music. This three-day camping festival is a value system that celebrates life, personal growth, healthy living and creative expressions.”
The music part of the festival – held on December 21st and 22nd – includes 10 artists that range from Chennai party-starters The F16s to Kochi synth/disco rock band The Derelicts, plus British handpan artist Daniel Waples with violinist Flavio Lopez, didgeridoo-percussionist Yogev Haruvi from Israel, Bengaluru rock band Space Is All We Have, Kerala instrumental rock band Mushroom Lake and more.
Additionally, talks at the festival cover everything from rainwater harvesting to minimal living and sustainable agriculture. Workshops at Bloom In Green range from handpan and didgeridoo to storytelling, acro yoga and DIY hula hoop making.
Currently, tickets are priced at ₹5,499 per person, which includes festival access as well as tent accommodation. Bus shuttles from Bengaluru and Kochi are also being organized, with about 600 people expected to attend. Check out the festival’s 2018 aftermovie to get a feel of the Bloom In Green experience.
