Who hasn’t seen Bob Marley on the face of a marijuana leaf? And while that may be a sight on pirated merchandize the world over, the reggae legend, best known for hits such as “No Woman, No Cry” and “Buffalo Soldier,” is set to become brand ambassador for Marley Natural, a brand of cannabis launched by the Jamaican singer’s family.

Marley Natural, owned by American legal cannabis firm Privateer Holdings, will sell cannabis-infused lotions, creams and various accessories. The brand plans to begin sales in the US and possibly worldwide in late 2015, with Bob Marley as the brand ambassador. Brendan Kennedy, CEO of Privateer Holdings, has said in a statement that they hope to prohibition laws on marijuana use with the launch of Marley Natural. “This is what the end of prohibition looks like. Bob Marley started to push for legalization more than 50 years ago. We’re going to help him finish it,” Kennedy said. The CEO added, “You know if you were to look for the most famous human being who ever walked the face of the earth related to cannabis, it would be Bob Marley.”

The Marley family have previously gone into business to produce coffee beans, audio equipment and charitable institutions for education and keep Bob Marley’s legacy alive. The singer’s several children, from Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley and Rohan Marley have all been in the music industry and helped keep their father’s name in light.
