Following two steamy seasons ending in betrothals with Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), Netflix has announced the next Bridgerton boy to enter the marriage mart.

Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, will lead the fourth season of the heavily watched period drama Bridgerton, Netflix announced Tuesday. In a teaser, a crew member arrives at Benedict’s door informing him of a fitting for an upcoming masquerade ball. “In that case, come on in,” he remarks at the end of the teaser.

In Season Four, which will have eight episodes, Benedict, the fine art enthusiast of the siblings, is in search of the illusive Lady in Silver. The fourth installment pulls from the pages of Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton book, An Offer From a Gentleman. In it, Benedict meets Sophie Beckett, a woman born to low social status, at a masquerade ball.

The Season Three finale shines a light on Benedict’s romantic interests. He accepts Lady Tilley Arnold’s (Hannah New) offer to join a throuple with Paul Suarez (Lucas Aurelio) and throughout the episode, viewers watch lustful, lip-locking snippets between the trio. The episode also reaches a climax when Penelope reveals at the Featherington ball that she is gossip columnist Lady Whistledown.

During the U.K. premiere of Bridgerton Part Two, showrunner Jess Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter that the next season will likely return in 2026.

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” Brownell said. “And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.”
