Check out the new video from ‘High Hopes’
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have released a new video for their cover of Aussie punk band the Saints’ “Just Like Fire Would.” The track is off the musician’s latest album, High Hopes and in classic Springsteen fashion, the simple clip finds the band in a dimly lit room bashing out the booming, horn-laden number.
The video heavily features Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who began playing with the E Street Band at the beginning of 2013, filling in for Steve Van Zandt who was filming his Netflix show Lilyhammer.
Morello ended up playing on six High Hopes cuts, and in a recent interview with ROLLING STONE, Springsteen lauded the guitarist’s playing style and credited him with giving the album its distinct contemporary edge. “He became a filter that I ran my music through,” Springsteen said. “He would send the songs back to me with a very current slant on them”¦ He jolted those songs into the now. He’s one of the few guitarists that creates a world by himself. It’s like the Edge or Pete Townshend or Johnny Marr. The E Street Band is a big house, but when Tom is onstage he builds another room.”
