After making it to the Top 24 of talent hunt Nexa Music, Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Bryan “The Man” Ernest put together his 15-instrument setup and began writing his latest single, the optimistic “This Will Be Over Soon.”
According to the musician, the idea to pen the song came about at the top of last month. The track kicks off with acoustic guitar strumming, electric guitar melodies, a thick bass line by Mumbai musician Hansel Dias (from folk fusion band Aankh Micholi) and Ernest’s graceful vocals. On the song, the singer-songwriter says, “You’ll find yourself in a very different place, maybe a more beautiful one [and] that’s the intention of this song.” Ernest adds, “I think it’s beautiful how this song actually came out to be, it was more of a personal challenge to express myself and put that piece of my heart out for the world to see.”
Ernest is also planning a video for the track as well as another release. Apart from his solo work, the musician hopes to put out his duo StringyCheese & CrackerJack’s debut album Fireflies and Unicorns by the end of the year. While in lockdown, the artist has been cooking and also giving out guitar and vocal lessons online. “I like the fact that I had my own space for this lockdown,” he says.
