Pop titans BTS are preparing for what they do best: live performances. Announced earlier today by BIGHIT Music (the septet’s music label), BTS are all set to bring their successful ‘PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE: SEOUL’ concert to their homeland.

Performing live in front of their Korean fans after a little over two years, PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE: SEOUL is set to be a three-day extravaganza at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium. To be held on March 10th, 12th and 13th, the offline show aims at doubling the excitement, with the March 10th and 13th shows scheduled to be live-streamed for international fans. The March 12th show, on the other hand, will be a unique viewing experience, with fans having the opportunity to either watch it in-person or at select movie theaters.

The announcement (published on HYBE’s fan-communication platform’s Weverse) explicitly mentioned the health guidelines within which the shows will function: “The event may be changed or canceled depending on the social distancing level,” the post read. “If the in-person component is canceled, your ticket will be fully refunded and additional details will be provided regarding the changes to the event. We would like to thank all ARMY for patiently waiting for an in-person concert to be held in Korea.”

PERMISSION TO DANCE: ON STAGE’s American chapter was a worthy addition to the pop titan’s ever-growing book of achievements. Held on November 27th and 28th, and December 1st and 2nd, the concert was the band’s first live performance before an in-person audience since their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium tour in 2019. Fans warmly welcomed the septet’s long-awaited performance with ARMY (BTS’ fandom) flying down to LA from different parts of the world. The excitement reflected in the revenue of the concert, banking in an impressive $33.3 million from 214,000 tickets sold across the four shows, making the four So-Fi Stadium shows the highest-grossing engagement of 2021 since venues reopened.

Fans elevated the buzz during the shows with a heartfelt birthday project for BTS’ vocalist Jin. They relied on the power of social media to spread details of the birthday project. Inspired by Jin’s “Moon”, a love letter penned to ARMY from the group’s critically acclaimed album MAP OF THE SOUL:7, the BTS ARMY placed crescent moon cutouts over their army bombs. Jin took notice of the sea of moons glistening the sold-out show: “Wow! Wow!” the vocalist gushed, “Thank you ARMY!”

2021 was a particularly tough year for musicians who conducted live performances, and that includes BTS. In August 2021, after nearly two years of postponement, the pop titans officially pulled the plug on their Map of the Soul world tour to safeguard the health and safety of their fans and staff. Keeping the spirit of performance and their ethos to spread positivity and happiness through their music, the septet held a series of paid virtual shows as well as live streaming concert documentaries and shows at no charge to help fans ease their stress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
