The septet are the first Korean artists to achieve this, with the track recording 33.9 million U.S. streams and 300,000 units sold in its first week

BTS is currently the world's leading pop band and Big Hit Entertainment's number one act.
Pop superstars BTS have debuted at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their new single “Dynamite.” They are the first South Korean act to achieve this feat and, according to Billboard, is the first international band in history to debut at Number on the Hot 100.
The septet sold a whopping 300,000 copies of “Dynamite” within the first week of its release, cementing its debut on the top of the chart. The track also racked up almost 34 million plays across streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, as well as an astounding 262 million views on YouTube as of this article. This is BTS’ fourth single to hit Number One on the Digital Song Sales ranking, following “Fake Love,” “On” and “Idol.” “On” was also the single that earned BTS their entry into the top five of the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at Number Four.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, “Dynamite” recorded 33.9 million U.S. streams in its first week, starting from August 21st and ending August 27th. It also drew 11.6 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending August 30th. “Dynamite” is the group’s first all-English track, which may have also contributed a little to a warm reception from radio stations and winning over new global audiences. In India the track saw huge level of success, clocking in over 2.4 million local streams on Spotify India, making it the biggest first-week debut for a song ever on the platform.
Earlier this morning, BTS made history yet again at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards by winning Best Pop–the first ever Asian act to do so–as well as Best K-pop, Best Group and Best Choreography.
