South Korean mega stars BTS have unveiled a brand new single titled “Dream Glow” with U.K. pop singer-songwriter Charli XCX. The song will be part of the original soundtrack of the group’s upcoming mobile app game BTS World.
“Dream Glow” is a mellow, synth-pop track with three of BTS’ vocalists, Jin, Jimin and Jungkook, joining Charli XCX on complex and whimsical harmonies. The lyrics (a mix of English and Korean) seem to be about working hard to achieve one’s dreams and goes perfectly with the premise of BTS World: the game is a story-based simulation that allows fans to join BTS on their journey to super-stardom as the group’s managers; “Always feeling something bigger something real wild/Keep on shining make it brighter than a spotlight… Sometimes I stop and stare/Follow my dreams right there.”
BTS’ collaboration with Charli XCX comes as no shock to fans; the artists’ Tweets and photos together on social media have been good indicators of the same. Norwegian producers Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer aka Stargate, are the real surprise; the multiple Grammy award-winning duo have previously produced mega-hits like Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable,” Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow,” Rihanna’s “Unfaithful,” Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent,” Katy Perry’s “Firework” and many more.
BTS World is scheduled to launch on June 26th and will be free to download.
