BTS Drop Playful B-Side Video for ‘Dynamite’

South Korean artists BTS have unveiled a fun, B-side music video for their latest single “Dynamite.” The clip follows the release of the official music video which dropped last Friday, and features the members on the same filming set, but in different angles from the original version.

Each member gets more solo shots to show off their freestyle moves and the video features previously unseen clips of the group having fun and dancing together. The disco sequence of the band grooving on a dance floor is extended in this version and the video ends with endearing behind-the-scenes takes of BTS attempting to perfect their Saturday Night Fever poses.

BTS have broken numerous records with the release of “Dynamite” on August 21st–the official music video became the biggest YouTube live premiere in the website’s history, raking in 3 million peak concurrent viewers. The video is also holds the record for most views for a music video in 24 hours with 101.1 million views. Both records were previously held by South Korean girl group BLACKPINK’s video for “How You Like That.”

In addition to YouTube, “Dynamite” broke records on several streaming services and charts; the track became the fastest song in iTunes history to reach Number One in over 100 countries–all within just eight hours of its release. This is BTS’ fifth song to achieve this milestone and was preceded by “My Time,” “Black Swan,” “Moon,” and “Your Eyes Tell,” (all from the group’s latest LP Map of the Soul: 7) plus vocalist V’s solo venture with “Sweet Night” from the OST of the popular Korean drama Itaewon Class. The previous artist to hold this record was British pop singer Adele, with 2015’s “Hello.” This also makes BTS the first and only artist in history to achieve over 100 Number Ones on iTunes with songs in three different languages–Korean, Japanese and English. 

Earlier today the septet also dropped two new remixes of “Dynamite”–a minimal acoustic track (which puts at the very forefront the members’ vocals) and an EDM rearrangement of the original.

Earlier this month BTS announced an ‘offline and online’ concert titled ‘Map of the Soul ON:E.’ Set to take place over October 10th and 11th, 2020, the concert will be the septet’s first ‘in-person’ concert of this year after the cancelation of their highly-anticipated ‘Map Of The Soul’ tour. Fans theorize that the concert will feature performances from Map of the Soul: 7, BTS’ fourth studio album which dropped in February.

“Dynamite” precedes the release of the group’s upcoming untitled album which is set to drop sometime in the last quarter of 2020. The septet will perform the track live for the first time at the 2020 MTV Music Awards on August 30th.
