Coinciding with his birthday, singer-songwriter and BTS’ youngest member Jung Kook will be exhibiting his instincts as a creative director in an upcoming pictorial project.

According to Korean media outlets, the photos “foreshadow the beginning of a new group project” where BTS will release pictorials, starting with Jung Kook. Media outlets further reported that the vocalist helmed the pictorial project right from ideation to curation, planning, and handpicked the themes, costumes and props. It is also reported that the theme of the pictorial sees Jung Kook reinterpreting ‘strong’ through his unique perspective.

Last evening, the BTS member tweeted the first teaser. The out-of-focus photograph shows Jung Kook owning the messy hair, red eye and tinted lips look as he intently stares into the camera as if he were caught in a trance. Upon its release, the vampire-esque theme instantly broke the Internet with fans creating several vampire-inspired edits on Twitter. From Jung Kook becoming the latest addition to the Cullen family to memes accurately depicting the fandom’s general vibe and mood, the tweet – which has now surpassed a million likes – certainly caught the BTS Army off-guard. With the teaser already released, fans can expect a slew of mood teasers, concept film and preview images in the coming weeks.

Earlier today, BTS’ official Instagram handle uploaded a three-photograph, monochrome grid. Captioned ‘Mood Day Teaser,’ it seems like Jung Kook’s pictorial project is titled ‘Me, Myself and Jung Kook’ and will consist of eight photos.

Throughout his career, Jung Kook has displayed his affinity for the visual arts. Between 2017 and 2019, the vocalist released six travel-styled videos under the Golden Closet Films (G.C.F) banner. In 2020, Jung Kook worked alongside directors Choi Yongseok and Yoon Jihye to direct the music video of BTS’ hit single “Life Goes On.” Three visual versions ( Life Goes On: on my pillow, Life Goes On: in a forest and Life Goes On: like an arrow) were also released with Jung Kook credited as a director on each one of them. The BTS member is also regularly seen photographing his members, sketching and painting, all of which point toward his creative soul.
