Budweiser Announces New Three-Day Electronic Music Lab BUDx

The conference will take place between December 6th-8th in New Delhi; to feature performances, panel discussions, workshops and more

In a plot to expand the music culture in India, Budweiser has announced the introduction of a brand new music conference, BUDx, which will be held across three days from December 6th-8th in New Delhi.

The beverage brand””that previously brought Boiler Room to India in 2016–aims for fans and artists to unite in a joint experience around the rising electronic music scene in the country with BUDx. The music lab will solely highlight the development of the genre and showcase Indian and international industry big names taking part in panel discussions and hosting master classes and workshops as well as live performances.

Kartikeya Sharma, Marketing Director, AB InBev India says, “We are delighted to bring BUDx–a first-of-its-kind electronic music lab to India and the avenues that this will open up for various stakeholders of the music industry-from artists to the fans.”

The debut edition of the event will witness panel discussions touching upon subjects which shall focus on India’s position amongst newer markets in Asia as well as developing trends in the Indian music industry. Some of the speakers include electronic artist Tejas Nair aka Spryk, Faith Gonsalves from NGO Music Basti, co-founder of Azadi Records Mo Joshi, and bass music producer Sohail Arora aka EZ Riser among others.

A panel comprising Gaurav Malaker aka BLOT!, Alberto Nerone (Mutek), Chal Ravens (FACT, Pitchfork, The Wire), Sarah Chawla (Magnetic Fields) and Kenneth Lobo (Red Bull Music Academy, DJ Mag) will speak on the topic of ”˜The Future of Indian Club Culture’ moderated by Raj Chaudhuri (Boiler Room, Livin’ Proof)

The event will also feature masterclasses by Mumbai-based DJ Uri and a production showcase with Los Angeles beatmaker Teebs. An audio-visual collaboration between multi-instrumentalist, producer and film director Ash Koosha and composer, percussionist and producer Sarathy Korwar in collaboration with New Delhi-based visual artist Amandeep Pablay will take place too.

For fans, the best part of the weekend will be the two Boiler Room parties that will feature some of the best Indian and international electronica artists. London-based DJs Dillinja and Mumdance will perform alongside Indian electronica producer Lifafa on December 8th at BUDx. The following day, the music lab is set to host a Detroit-to-Delhi showcase featuring American producer Omar S, Marcellus Pittman and Indian producers and DJs, FILM and Kini Rao. Other performances also include Indian acts such as Arjun Vagale, Zokhuma and Sid Vashi.

Sharma says, “Culture shaping is at the core of all our initiatives and with BUDx we aim to push the boundaries further by introducing a platform which will redefine [the] electronic music culture in the country.”
