Teddy Boy Kill To Take Over The Budweiser MADE stage in Goa

An electronica set is, as ever, an exacting experience for the artist despite what most audiences would like to believe.  Samrat Bharadwaj and Ashhar Farooqui, who perform as New Delhi-based Teddy Boy Kill, mix synths and beats with vocals and guitar and have gained a steady, loyal following over the last few years for their blend of techno, glitch and bass. It’s these kinds of unconventional sounds and promising talent that Budweiser MADE, a new gig series, hopes to promote across the country.

The first set of Budweiser MADE gigs featured electronica act Nicholson, indie electronic artist Fuzzy Logic, electronica producer Zokhuma and bass DJ Bassister at Sitara Studios in Mumbai, cabaret/rock band Peter Cat Recording Co with audio/visual electronica duo B.L.O.T at Hauz Khas Social in New Delhi and downtempo electronica duo Sulk Station in Bengaluru. Based on the success of the last three legs of the tour, the upcoming event will feature 300 feet of LED walls,  multiple projectors and touch sensors, among other things.

The next edition, scheduled for December 5th, will be held at Baxters in Goa, with Delhi-based electronica duo Teddy Boy Kill taking stage along with Delhi producer Hashback Hashish, Mumbai-based electro rock artist Donn Bhat, Mumbai electronica producer Func and with visual artist Vinny Bhagat of Shivnakaun. Says Bharadwaj about what audiences can expect from the show, “We were asked to curate the gig and so we invited a couple of people across the country. What we’ve tried to do is bring different kinds of musicians from different backgrounds together on one platform.” Teddy Boy Kill, who were formed in 2008, released their most recent album Dead Pixel in October and will perform most of the album’s six tracks at the event. Adds Bharadwaj , “There’s everything from downtempo to drum ‘n bass. To sum it up, there isn’t just one type of music so the audience is in for an experience.”
