Canada’s Magic! Return To India for Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival in November
The hitmakers behind the song “Rude” will make their second appearance in India at the three-day festival
Canadian reggae-fusion band Magic! have been announced as one of three international headliners at the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival taking place in Meghalaya between November 24th and 26th.
Magic! — best known for their single “Rude” from the 2014 album Don’t Kill The Magic — will be making their second appearance in India, following their 2019 debut at cultural festival Mood Indigo’s Livewire concert series, held at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Currently a trio comprising Nasri, Mark Pellizzer and Ben Spivak, Magic! released their latest single “Ain’t Got Nothin’ Figured Out” in September and are plotting a new full-length album for release later this year. Fans can also expect songs such as “No Way No,” “Kiss Me,” “Red Dress” and “Girl at Coachella,” their 2017 collaboration with producer Matoma and rapper-singer DRAM.
Magic! join an exciting lineup of artists who will perform across three days at Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival, including U.K. artist HRVY, DJ-producer Jonas Blue, Portugal’s Hybrid Theory (a tribute act to nu-metallers Linkin Park), Assamese star Papon, Shillong veteran folk hero Lou Majaw, hip-hop artist Meba Ofilia, pop act Jessie Lyngdoh, rock trio Street Stories and several more.
