New Delhi artist Chaar Diwaari aka Garv Taneja pushes the envelope further with this shimmering new song “Thehra,” released via Def Jam Recordings India.

His first release of the year, the electronic, hip-hop and pop blend of “Thehra” follows singles such as “Jhaag,” which has quickly become one of Chaar Diwaari’s most popular songs. If the artist has it his way, “Thehra” is a step further in the direction of being an experimental artist who can weave in and out of the accessible and the uncomfortable, like his debut EP Teri Maiyat Ke Gaane.

Part of the relatable edge that Chaar Diwaari gives to “Thehra” is how it’s kind of a love song. The artist said in a statement, “‘Thehra’ is a song about how a hug from someone you love can feel like it could last a century. It’s about the moment of warmth and ecstasy one feels in the arms of a lover. It’s written from the perspective of a lost man who finally feels at peace, all due to a much needed hug. The song sonically represents controlled chaos with a lot of ear candy. It’s backed up by a trap drum beat and incorporates a lot of vocal harmonies.”

A music video for “Thehra” is set to drop on March 24th, which adds another dimension to the artist’s auteur-like tendencies, singing, producing, writing lyrics and directing his visuals for his releases.

Previously in 2023, Chaar Diwaari set his intentions as a genre-agnostic artist, releasing the waltz-pop informed “Roshni” with singer-producer Bharg Kale, the aggro rap song “Violence” with Mumbai rapper Gravity, the grisly, noise and industrial rap of “Garam” with rapper Rawal and his frenetic single “Barood.”
