Mumbai-based independent music label Ennui.BOMB hosts a Sunday gig at the suburban venue, Kino 108
Since March this year, Ennui.BOMB have had their regular gig series BOMB Thursdays at the suburban Mumbai venue Kino 108, which has seen some excellent gigs featuring some crowd surfing moments and mini moshpits, as well as some gigs which couldn’t quite cut it. This Sunday, the venue is going to see Pune-based electronica duo Castles in the Sky and Chennai-based five-member electro rock band The F16s who are back to the city after their second Mumbai gig at Hard Rock Café in Andheri in September this year.
The F16s will play an hour-and-a-half-long set, playing tracks off their debut EP Kaleidoscope. Their set will also include some new tracks such as “Lunar Zep,” which they debuted at the Magnetic Fields in Rajasthan. The band also just played and won a few accolades at the Hornbill International Rock Contest, which included a monetary reward for winning a third place in the contest. Keyboardist/sampler Harshan Radhakrishnan adds, “We plan on recording another album with the prize money and release it sometime next year. And we are close to finishing our tour. Our next stop after the Kino gig is Mood Indigo and we end the year with a gig in Bangalore at The Humming Tree.”
The second act of the night, Castles in the Sky comprises 19-year old college students Shubham Mehra and Angad Bharaj. This year, the duo released a downtempo five-track EP Fugu Fish earlier in January this year.
Catch The F16s and Castles in the Sky at The Special Sunday! at Kino 108. The gig starts off at 9.30 pm with an entry fee of Rs 100.
