Coachella: Guns N’ Roses, LCD Soundsystem, Calvin Harris Lead Lineup

Disclosure, Ice Cube, Grimes, Run the Jewels, Sia, the 1975, A$AP Rocky and many more recruited to play Indio fest

Guns N’ Roses, LCD Soundsystem and Calvin Harris will each headline a night of this year’s Coachella. Like last year, the festival will take place over two weekends, running three straight nights each beginning April 15th and April 22nd respectively at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Other artists slated to perform on the first night include Ellie Goulding, Sufjan Stevens and Jack U. The second day will feature sets by Ice Cube, Disclosure, Grimes, A$AP Rocky, Run the Jewels and Zedd. And the performers of the final day include Sia, Major Lazer, Rancid, the 1975 as well as many others.

The festival is the first date to be officially announced by the newly reunited classic line-up of Guns N’ Roses. Rumors have been swirling for months about a potential reunion, with members and friends of the band sparking more discussion about whether or not Axl Rose and Slash’s first live show together since July 1993 will take place this year.

Former members like Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed and Tommy Stinson have all joined Rose on-stage over the years. Billboard recently reported that the band is in talks for a world tour. While the line-up is currently up in the air, both Slash and McKagan confirmed their involvement on social media, with Slash posting the band’s logo on top of the same background as the Coachella line-up poster on Instagram while McKagan did the same on Facebook.

LCD Soundsystem will be reuniting for the first time since the band’s farewell show at Madison Square Garden in 2011. Rumors of the dance-rock group’s reunion have circulated over the past year, gaining more traction on Christmas Eve when the band released their first new song in five years, “Christmas Will Break Your Heart.”
