Coldplay plans to release new music in the new year, according to singer Chris Martin. “Hello everyone, we’re working on some new songs for next year,” the lead singer wrote. “It’s called the Kaleidoscope EP. We hope you’re well, love cm.” He did not reveal any further information about the project.

In February, the band headlined the Super Bowl halftime show and in September, the group played its first Canadian shows in five years. Earlier this month, Coldplay joined Jay Z and Demi Lovato to perform at the inaugural Global Citizen Festival in India.

Coldplay’s last studio LP, A Head Full of Dreams, was released in December of 2015. It debuted at Number Two on the Billboard 200. Two singles from the record, “Adventure of a Lifetime” and “Hymn for the Weekend,” subsequently cracked the top 25 on the Hot 100. The album was certified gold, indicating 500,000 album equivalent units sold, in March.

Speaking with Rolling Stone in 2015, Martin suggested that the band had entered a new phase of productivity following the release of Ghost Stories in 2014. “I was being sent so many songs from the universe that I said, ‘I’ve got to just keep recording,'” he explained.
