After hosting nine editions in three cities that will go down as music folklore in the Indian independent music scene, Control ALT Delete (CAD) is back. Organizers Nikhil Udupa and Himanshu Vaswani always want to do something new, they were the first to host a gig at Mumbai’s Sitara Studio as well as entertainment space Smaaash. For their 10th edition the crowdfunded property is setting up at Mumbai’s dirt track/motor sports location Roaring Farm in Malad. The open air venue will host 35 artists across five stages on February 11th and 12th.

Udupa tells us that for the 10th edition they wanted to go all out. He says, “We thought, let’s have it at a bigger venue in Mumbai, an open air venue in the heart of Mumbai is a great thing.”

The acts booked to perform are Mumbai-based extreme metal band Demonic Resurrection, space-rock group Gumbal, Delhi-based avant-garde duo MOSKO, drum and bass artist Ox7gen, singer-songwriters Zoya and Ramya Pothuri, rappers Divine and Enkore, prog trio The Family Cheese, experimental-pop band Lawntuba, Malad’s own Make The Scene House Band and more (See full lineup below). This being the biggest edition of CAD, the organizers have booked artists across all genres. “We are trying to represent five major genres; metal, alt-indie, singer-songwriters, hip-hop and electronica,” says Udupa.

CAD will kick-off at two in the afternoon and go right up until 10 PM on both days. Apart from the music, the event is offering activities that attendees can partake in, food stalls and food trucks. They are also offering a space to people to sell their merchandize at a nominal cost. Udupa tells us that the property wants to involve the independent community rather than just musicians.

This will be the first edition without co-founder Rishu Singh who is not part of the organizing team due to his commitments on other projects. Udupa reassures us that he is there for support and that he will always be part of the CAD family. Stay tuned for more updates.
