Running into its 41st year of operation, Festember is the annual cultural festival of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli. Besides hosting a number of guest lecturers and cultural performances, the festival has drawn some of the country’s best up-and-coming bands with its various music competitions.

While the first day of the collegiate festival will witness Belgian electronic music producers DJ Alvar and Millas take the stage as part of Sunburn Campus, day two will see fresh rock talent at the finals of semi-pro rock competition Gig-a-Hertz. One of the many highlights of Festember is the Rock Night that follows, and this year’s lineup includes Kochi post rock group Mushroom Lake, alternative rock band Black Letters from Bengaluru and Chennai funk rockers Skrat.

Beginning with the finals of the Acoustic competition, the program for day three includes an instrumental showdown, and an a cappella competition, leading up to the finals of Gig-a-Hertz.
