The Swedish melodic death metal band returns to India for their second gig

Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquility
Dark Tranquility has confirmed they will play at the two-day fest Bangalore Open Air in July this year. The Swedish melodic death metal band is the first of the international acts confirmed to play at the festival and joins two Indian bands already confirmed ”“ extreme metal band Demonic Resurrection and Bengaluru heavy metal band Millennium.
Dark Tranquility vocalist Mikael Stanne confirmed in an interview with online zine Metal Assault that they will play at the second edition of Bangalore Open Air. This is the second time the band plays in India, after their headlining performance in 2011 at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad’s cultural fest Pearl ’11. They release their 10th studio album, Construct, on May 27th in Europe.
Bangalore Open Air hosted German thrash metal band Kreator, folk metal band SuidAkrA, and Indian metallers such as Kryptos, Bevar Sea, Dying Embrace, 1833 AD, Albatross and Eccentric Pendulum in its day-long first edition in June last year. The complete lineup, ticketing and venue details for this year’s lineup are yet to be announced.
