Dave Grohl, Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age to Close Grammys

 The Grammys will end on a particularly loud note this year, with a closing performance that will feature Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails and Fleetwood Mac guitarist/vocalist Lindsey Buckingham.  

Three of the artists playing the finale ”“ Grohl, Queens frontman Josh Homme and Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor ”“ teamed together last year to record the track “Mantra” for Grohl’s Sound City: Real to Reel soundtrack. The Sound City movie also contained an interview with Buckingham. The soundtrack was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, and its teaming of Grohl, McCartney, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear is up for Best Rock Song for “Cut Me Some Slack.” That said, Grammy reps have not revealed what the group will perform Sunday.

Hunter Hayes and Gary Clark Jr. have also been added to the bill. 

These latest additions add to the mega-talent previously announced. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will perform separate sets at the show; Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Katy Perry, Lorde, Kacey Musgraves, John Legend, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are all slated to perform. 

The show will also feature some unique collaborations, including a pairing of Robin Thicke with Chicago, Carole King with Sara Bareilles and Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons. It will also include a country confab with Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton. Daft Punk will play their first televised performance since 2008, when they collaborate with Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams. And Metallica, who have not appeared on the Grammys since 1991, to perform with classical pianist Lang Lang for a revamped version of the metal group’s 1988 single “One.”

LL Cool J will host the show, which will take place at Los Angeles’s Staples Center at 8 p.m and broadcast live on VH1 India at 6.30 a.m on January 27th.
