Delhi dance rock/experimental band Mosko are yet to release material but have already clinched a five-city tour starting next month. The band, comprising vocalist Kavya Trehan, guitarist Moses Koul [also from math rock/metal band Kraken], bassist Abhinav Chaudhary [from experimental rockers The Circus] and drummer Suyash Gabriel [from electro rock act Komorebi and hardcore band Grammy Winning Effort], have been around for just two years and came together for their debut set at Ragasthan in 2014.

For their upcoming tour, Mosko have  partnered with Ahmedabad’s BlueTree artist management and booking agency. The band will travel across Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and New Delhi between May 5th and 12th. Says Trehan, “It’s quite surreal and fantastic. To be a part of a movement that might change the whole setup of independent music and how it’s consumed, in India in the future is extremely humbling.”

Mosko are the first of few independent bands to be booked, recorded and managed by BlueTree [formerly Studio BlueTree]. Founder Uddipan Sarmah is also currently working with Mumbai punk rock band Punk on Toast, Bengaluru rock duo Diarchy and Kolkata metallers What Escapes Me in different capacities ”“ either to produce their studio material or book them for gigs in new cities. Sarmah adds, “My aim with this is to work with artists who have talent but haven’t been able to perform as much. Sarmah has many more artists from across the country signed to BlueTree, something he started formulating in January this year.

As for Mosko, Trehan says there are plans to go into the studio, but they hope to keep testing new material, like they will on this tour. She says, “All of us are only thinking about how much fun we will have playing our songs live to a completely brand new audience. As far as first impressions go, that’s not in our hands. We just hope people like dancing.”
