In January 2020, globe-trotting eco-conscious electronic music and art festival DGTL (pronounced ‘digital’) made its India debut in Bengaluru, showcasing a heavy-hitter lineup of international and countrywide artists across multiple stages at the Lalit Ashok.

What followed was the COVID-19 pandemic, which arguably put the brakes on a lot of plans for expanding into India for DGTL, which originated in Amsterdam in 2013 and has since been set up in São Paulo (Brazil), Santiago (Chile), Barcelona (Spain), Madrid (Spain) and Tel Aviv (Israel).

This December, two more Indian cities will get added on the DGTL map — New Delhi will host artists on December 9th and 10th at Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, and the Mumbai edition will take place on December 10th and 11th at Nesco Center.

Although the first wave of artists was announced in June this year, more artists have been added to the two-day music festival. Serbian artist Tijana T, Iranian-American techno and house stalwart Dubfire, and Dutch DJ-producers such as Ki/Ki and Lee-Ann Roberts will get behind the console, while Copenhagen-based Denis Horvat will return to India as well for DGTL.

Indian artists include BLOT!, Vridian, Sublime Sound and others in New Delhi, plus Anyasa aka Anish Sood, Sequ3l, Deep Brown, Sindhi Curry and more in Mumbai. The complete lineup for DGTL Mumbai and DGTL New Delhi now includes headliners such as Solomun, Maribou State, SPFDJ, Giolì & Assia, Toto Chiavetta and more.

Festival director Ellen Evers says in a statement, “We are looking very forward to continuing our partnership with the DGTL India team. After a successful first weekender in Bengaluru in 2020, it was unfortunate we had to put our plans on ice for more than two years. But I am sure we will make this be forgotten in the blink of an eye with this year’s double edition in New Delhi and Mumbai.”

Tickets for DGTL are currently selling at ₹5,000 for access to both days, with group passes priced at ₹12,750 (group of 3) and ₹21,250 (group of 5).
