Metal/rock band Girish and the Chronicles also return to Europe in July, while Chennai act Jatayu will perform at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival
We’re just nearing the halfway mark of 2023 and it’s already seen Indian artists make a big mark overseas, from Peter Cat Recording Co.’s North America debut, to the indefatigable force that’s folk-metallers Bloodywood heading to the U.S., left-field artists like Ruhail Qaisar performing in Germany, hip-hop and pop artist KING heading to the Wireless Middle East festival in Abu Dhabi and more.
The dates keep rolling out, clearly, because the audiences are ready and waiting, as are the artists for their shot at aiming for a global following. Here are a few shows and tours on the horizon:
Starting June 2nd in Vancouver, Canada, the Hindi singer-producer heads out to some of the biggest cities in North America to promote his album Mimmi. Over the span of two weeks, Ritviz will perform in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle and more.
On the road since earlier this May as part of their second Europe trip this year, Bengaluru-based heavy metal band Kryptos continue their Spitting Nitro Tour all through to June 11th, with festival and club shows alike. The stops are ranging from Malta to Sweden to the Netherlands, repping Indian heavy metal all across Europe with their recent album Force of Danger.
Goa-bred producer Anyasa aka Anish Sood’s next record arrives in June and with news of the release also comes the announcement of his North America tour. Performing in June, July and August across the U.S. and Canada, among the tour dates for Anyasa is a performance at New York City’s famed Brooklyn Mirage club.
Fresh off his performance at the final of the Indian Premier League cricket tournament, DIVINE is set for his Australia and New Zealand debut starting June 30th in Auckland. It’s followed by shows in Melbourne on July 1st and Sydney on July 7th. The rap star is bringing his latest album Gunehgar to new shores and it might just be the first of many moves to an international takeover.
Soon after they open for none other than Guns N’ Roses in Abu Dhabi this June, Bengaluru-based, Sikkim-origin rock/metal band Girish and The Chronicles will head out to Europe once again in June and July. Among the confirmed performances include Summerside Festival in Sweden (June 24th), plus shows in Lille, France (June 29th), Ghent, Belgium (June 30th) and four shows across Spain in July.
Chennai-based fusion, jazz and alternative group Jatayu are making their way back to Japan (following their 2022 tour) for their second appearance in the country, at the coveted Fuji Rock Festival from July 28th to 30th. Sharing the billing with everyone from Foo Fighters to Lizzo to Yard Act, Alanis Morissette, Lewis Capaldi and others, Jatayu become the second act to be invited to perform at Fuji Rock, following Bloodywood’s debut there last year.
