Following its kickoff in Mumbai last weekend, the rap star’s six-city run of shows through March in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Chandigarh and Delhi NCR will be rescheduled to a future date
On March 1st, rap star DIVINE kicked off his DIVINE Time India tour on home turf in Mumbai, but the rest of his six-city run has been abruptly canceled at the last minute, with organizers citing “unavoidable circumstances.”
On the day that DIVINE was expected to perform in Ahmedabad, ticketing platform Zomato Live announced that the show was off, along with gigs in all the other cities as well. A statement from their social media stated, “Due to unavoidable circumstances, DIVINE Time India Tour shows in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Pune are postponed. New dates will be announced soon.”
No further comments or statements have been shared by the artists or other parties involved in putting the tour together. Tickets purchased for these shows will be valid for the rescheduled dates, according to Zomato Live.
Presented jointly by DIVINE’s Gully Gang and the label Saregama Live (who had released his recent single “4.10”), the DIVINE Time India tour was slated to hit up Ahmedabad on March 3rd, followed by shows in Bengaluru on March 9th, in Pune on March 10th, in Chandigarh on March 25th and in Delhi NCR on March 30th.
At the Mumbai show, DIVINE was joined by his band, comprising DJ and hypeman Joel D’Souza aka JD (co-founder at Gully Gang), DJ Proof, drummer Gautam Deb, guitarist Moses Koul and bassist Hashbass aka Harshit Misra. The rapper’s Mumbai appearance – playing to a full house – came on the back of releasing his collaborative album Street Dreams with Punjabi star Karan Aujla.
While shows may not be on the cards just yet this month, a new music video for “Nothing Lasts” from Street Dreams was released yesterday, made in association with The Dharavi Dream Project and Hemkunt Foundation.
