Emil Nava directs video about woman who falls in love with her VW Cabriolet
Three years after dropping “Turn Down for What” with Lil Jon and a year after teaming with Major Lazer for “Lean On,” DJ Snake will finally release his own debut album, dubbed Encore, on August 5th, the French producer announced Monday. DJ Snake also unveiled the Emil Nava-directed video for the George Maple-featuring album track “Talk.”
While not as overwhelmingly insane as Snake’s infamous “Turn Down for What” video, “Talk” continues DJ Snake’s string of bizarre music videos, this time with a story about a Mexican woman who digs herself out of loneliness by falling in love with her sentient blue Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible. The unlikely romance ends when the woman douses the vehicle in gasoline and sets in on fire.
In addition to the “Talk” video,” DJ Snake also shared his new LP’s album art:
On Snapchat, DJ Snake revealed the guest-filled, 14-song Encore tracklist, which includes “Talk” as well as “Sahara” featuring Skrillex and the previously released “Middle” with Bipolar Sunshine. However, the producer is keeping the rest of the album’s special guests under wraps for now (via Billboard).
