DJ Snake Drops Star-Studded Collaborative Single ‘SG’

The single features Ozuna, BLACKPINK's Lisa and Megan Thee Stallion

After months of teasing the project on his social media, French producer DJ Snake unveils the highly anticipated music video for “’SG.”

Featuring Puerto Rican singer, Ozuna, South Korean group BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion, the high-profile collaborative single follows DJ Snake’s signature soundscape of Latin trap. A sonic reminisce of the French producer’s 2018 hit “Taki Taki,” “SG” explores the infatuation with a ‘sexy girl (SG),’ expressing a desire of wanting to spend a good time together: “Sexy girl (Sexy girl)/ Tell me what are you going to do (What are you going to do?)/I want to see (Woh), know what you know how to do (You know how to do).”

Famed for his international appeal, Ozuna heightens the mood of the track with his distinct style and swag. The award-winning Afro-Latin’s fluidity as a vocalist delivers a sweet yet sultry performance, fitting the track’s thematics of love and infatuation effortlessly.

Megan Thee Stallion and Lisa bring in the woman’s perspective into the track, sharing a response to the attention. Megan Thee Stallion’s fierce verse is confident with the rapper unapologetically celebrating herself whilst reminding us that men don’t bother her; “Thick thighs, brown eyes, pretty brown skin (Brown skin)/ Ninety-nine problems and none of ’em are men (None of ’em are men)/ Many men try (Yeah), but many men fail.” The rapper delivers her own take on a line from Jay-Z’s 2003 single hit “99 Problems,” switching it up with, “I got 99 problems, but a bitch ain’t one”

Blending her expertise in choreography with a breathy vocal performance, BLACKPINK member Lisa expresses her desire to fall in love as opposed to just spending the night together, “On fire (Fire), boy, won’t you behave?/ My love gon’ send you up into a higher place (Woh-oh, woh-oh) Oh, oh-oh.” Lisa has also contributed to “SG” as a songwriter.

Inspired by tropical landscapes, the music video sees the artists perform against technicolor backdrops with Lisa roping in choreographed elements. The quartet are occasionally seen together on a polished platform, grooving to the moombahton track.

Responding to a fan’s tweet, DJ Snake first hinted at a collaboration with Lisa in May 2021. The now-deleted tweet initially led fans to speculate the producer as a featured artist on Lisa’s long-awaited solo project LALISA which dropped last month. “SG” was then officially announced on October 13th alongside the names of the featured artists.
