The dubstep folk rock mashup between the two artists goes live on a three-city tour
Nothing spells hit better than disco folk rock getting mashed up with the squelch of dubstep and electro bass. Bengaluru folk rock band Swarathma has been closing sets with this dance-happy version of “Naane Daari,” a remix by Delhi EDM artist Sahej Bakshi aka Dualist Inquiry, ever since they debuted it at NH7 Weekender in Pune last November. While Swarathma used a backing track for the times when Bakshi wasn’t around to lay down the beats, the two return to launch the remix single on a three-city tour. The band had originally planned to release the “Naane Daari (Dualist Inquiry Remix)” and the “Topiwalleh” remix by Mumbai hip hop act Bombay Bassment as part of the Topiwalleh Remix EP, but has instead chosen to release them as singles.
Says Bakshi about working on  “Naane Daari,” “It didn’t matter that I didn’t understand the Kannada lyrics, I worked on recreating some of the magic on the track with a synthesizer and it turned out so great.”
