'Our directions didn't match,' Kapoor posted to his Facebook page this week

Buzzed-about pop rock band Spud In The Box recently announced that drummer Vivaan Kapoor is no longer part of the band. While Kapoor stated creative differences (”˜Our directions didn’t match,’ he posted on his Facebook page) as the reason for leaving the Mumbai-based band, he later told ROLLING STONE India: “They [his bandmates] think they’ve made it, I feel I still have to reach there.”
Vocalist and keyboardist Rohan Rajadhyaksha added that Kapoor parted with the band in April. “It happened last last month. It was a mutual decision. For now, we are all busy with exams,” Rajadhyaksha said, adding, “We are looking at another drummer, but we’ll pursue it actively once our exams are over.”
Publicist Shreya Naik of Dream Makers Entertainment, who had been handling Spud In The Box, is no longer with the band, but will continue to promote Kapoor. The young drummer, who is currently recording a track for acoustic rockers Whirling Kalapas’ self-titled debut EP (it also features Spud’s vocalist Ankit Dayal), which releases later this month, recently performed with Hindi fusion rock band Sur as part of the Bandstand Revival. Kapoor adds, “The plan is to perform as often as I can. I will be playing with The Other People as well as the Reuel Benedict band.”Â
