Happy Duaween: Dua Lipa Drops Hauntingly Great Song Teaser

The follow-up to Future Nostalgia will arrive next year

Published by

Dua Lipa‘s psychedelic journey starts now. After wiping her Instagram clean earlier this month, the pop star has returned with a video teasing new music.

The news arrives following Lipa’s confirmation of the album in a recent interview with New York Times Magazine, where the music was described as “1970s-era psychedelia.” The new teaser features a golden key necklace, along with several polaroids and the cryptic message “4 8 9 9 14 15 21.” A snippet of the song is played in the video, featuring Lipa singing the line “Tell me all the ways you’ll need me” over a groovy beat.

The album will mark Lipa’s third album, following 2020’s Future Nostalgia.

Last spring, Lipa contributed “Dance the Night” to the Barbie soundtrack, executive produced by Mark Ronson. “I’ve heard some of it and it’s incredible,” Ronson told Vulture of Lipa’s upcoming album. “I think that’s why there’s the disco ball that smashes in the video (‘Dance the Night’), right? This feels like her triumphant stomp on that era of her music into whatever she does next.”

Although Lipa’s Instagram was wiped clean, you can still see her previous posts on Twitter — including her recent Service 95 newsletter, where she interviews Patti Smith about her 2010 memoir Just Kids.
