E. Suresh

E. Suresh has led a team for over a decade that has created animation films in 2D and 3D; and pioneered clay/stop motion in advertising films in India, at a time when animation was a relatively new medium in the country. With his firm belief in the design process for solutions, Suresh has been instrumental in creating a market for animated ad films by going beyond the traditional way of technique and storytelling that was popular then in India. His path breaking exploration of new styles to tell things differently, yet effectively, is perhaps the reason for an audience and a whole new industry that heralds an exciting phase of Indian animation. He was the founder and creative director of Famous House of Animation, in partnership with Famous Studios Ltd., Mumbai from 1998 ”“ 2009. At present with a state of the art technology and infrastructure steered by 35 skillful creative minds, Suresh’s Studio Eeksaurus is three years and 70 films old. He has won over a 100 national and international awards for his innovative and diverse work through his filmmaking career.

The Idea

Music is becoming a language that is crossing borders making new global alliances. This is my basic thought behind my cover design. It is symbolized with a visual metaphor of a Rajasthani folk singer playing the saxophone, that explains the phenomenon of new age music gaining popularity by merging borders, mixing traditions, breaking conventions and gathering a new age ”˜cool’ quotient [what the youth call today]. Today the new genre of ”˜people’s music’ has global sounds and it does not necessarily require a trained musician to write music.
