The Eagles have kicked off the fundraising efforts for the upcoming FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles, donating $2.5 million to the cause, according to Billboard.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30 at Inglewood’s Intuit Dome. Although the lineup has not been announced, the concert is being organized by some of the biggest names in music — Live Nation, AEG and the Irving Azoff family — which will likely bring in A-list talent to support the night. (Azoff is the group’s longterm manager.)
It is not clear if the rock band will be part of the benefit concert, as they are in the middle of a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, which runs though April.
Reps for the Eagles did not immediately return Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.
Billed as “an evening of music and solidarity,” event organizers are hoping for a big turnout at the 18,000-seater venue. Proceeds will go toward families displaced by the devastating wildfires that first erupted on Jan. 7. Funds will also be directed toward efforts to rebuild the Los Angeles infrastructure and investments in technology aimed at preventing fires in the future.
As of Wednesday, at least 25 people have been killed and more than 12,000 buildings have been burned to the ground or damaged during the blazes.
