Editor’s Pick: Singer-Songwriter Michael Dias Wishes for a ‘Time Machine’ on New Solo Song

The vocalist-guitarist of Bengaluru rock band Mad Orange Fireworks crafts a tender and sublime song off his upcoming debut album

Kochi-born, Goa-based singer-songwriter Michael Dias has been known for his vulnerable and straightforward melodies, best heard on rock band Mad Orange Fireworks albums over the last 10 years.

Over the last five years, he’s been writing music for his solo project and the first studio material comes in the form of “Time Machine,” an openhearted acoustic song that deliberates on what Dias would do if he could ever time-travel.

The song is taken from his upcoming album Show Me What’s Real and Dias recounted on Instagram how “Time Machine” came to him after a night of restlessness about five years ago, soon after finishing a Mad Orange Fireworks gig. The music video for “Time Machine” offers a further glimpse into the life and times of Dias, stitching together his performances of the song at several intimate shows, plus shenanigans with his bandmates and personal adventures.
