Tamil playback singer Sharanya Srinivas is one of the four artists who are part of Rolling Stone India and TuneCore India’s second edition of the editorial campaign ‘Emerge.’

Featuring Malayali musician and singer Arya Dhayal, Andra Pradesh’s Damini Bhatla, Kannada rapper Gubbi and Tamil singer Sharanya Srinivas, the latest season will give the audience a peek into the creative processes of independent artistic voices hailing from various regions in Southern India , their inspiration and more.

Daughter of celebrated singer, Srinivasan Doraiswamy, Srinivas’ decade-long career has seen the young vocalist work with some of the most sought-after names in the Indian music industry such as A.R. Rahman, Imman, Sharreth, Santhosh Narayanan, Nivas Prasanna, Madley Blues and Justin Prabhakar. Today, with a discography spanning across Tamil and Malayalam hits, Srinivas is excited more than ever to share her artistry with the world.

“As an independent artist, there is a lot of excitement and plenty of challenges at the same time” the vocalist explains. “To explore something creative, we need our own space. Not just physically, but mentally you need to be at peace to be able to do that. That’s when creativity flows without barriers.”

On trusting her artistic endeavors and goals with a platform Srinivas picked TuneCore, citing “direct audience engagement” as one of the key reasons; “With TuneCore, we get to engage with our audience directly. When we have a new song release, we want it to reach most people and find out their reactions.”
