Haryanvi artist Vishvajeet Choudhary is one of the six artists who are part of Rolling Stone India and TuneCore India’s new editorial campaign ‘Emerge.’
‘Emerge’ will profile and chronicle the lives of six breakout artists from across India: Choudhary, Odiya rapper Big Deal, Hindi/Gujarati artist Priya Saraiya, Assamese singer Antara Nandy, Bengali artist Rupam Islam and Punjabi singer Gurnazar. Discover more about each artist’s process of making music and why they chose TuneCore to put their music out into the world.
Known for his hit tracks like “Gajban,” “Chundad,” and “Took,” the singer and producer has made his presence known as a unique, innovative and vibrant voice in Haryanvi pop. “Being an independent artist is like a celebration everyday,” he says about forging a path as a Haryanvi musician in India and making his voice and culture heard. “I want my music to reach as many people as it can.” The artist explains it’s one of the reasons he chose TuneCore as his digital distributor because of the platform’s immense support for musicians in India. “Rolling Stone India‘s support is a very big thing for me,” he added about being part of ‘Emerge.’
His advice to more artists like him who are determined to help India’s diverse soundscape blossom is, “Do not put off till tomorrow what you can do today.”
