Enigma Members to Perform in Bengaluru This October
Vocalists Fox Lima, Andru Donalds and Angel X are joined by a symphony orchestra, dancers and more to perform the new age artist’s top hits
Among the most popular new age music to hit Indian shores in the Nineties, Enigma’s songs will be performed live in India on Oct. 5, 2024, at Jayamahal Palace in Bengaluru.
Original Enigma Voices – led by the trio of singers Andru Donalds, Angel X and Fox Lima – have been giving fans of the project founded by German artist Michael Cretu the live experience since 2019. Joined by an orchestra, dancers and visuals, their India show promises songs like “Return To Innocence,” “Sadeness,” “Mea Culpa,” “The Rivers of Belief,” “Age of Loneliness” and more.
Lima tells Rolling Stone India about their upcoming India debut, “The idea of bringing our music to life in front of an Indian audience fills us with a mixture of excitement, humility and gratitude. We can’t wait to merge the beauty and intensity of the Indian musical tradition with our own unique sounds.”
Donalds adds in his statement, “We look forward to touching the hearts and souls of listeners in India and creating an unforgettable musical experience. It is a privilege and an honor for us to be part of this historic premiere and we are full of emotions when we think about the upcoming concert.”
The show is promoted by Bengaluru platform The Indian Artists Collective, who are officially calling it Experience Enigma Live in India. The company has previously brought down the likes of Italian metallers Fleshgod Apocalypse and Polish metal band Vader for separate shows in 2023.
Enigma, founded in 1990 by Cretu, has had three Grammy nominations and over 70 million records sold. Gaining popularity during the global rise of new age music with artists like Enya and Deep Forest, Enigma’s music has often incorporated Gregorian chants, folk instrumentation from around the world, atmospheric and psychedelic sounds right from their debut album MCMXC a.D. in 1990.
