“Christmas Tree” (Our Beloved Summer)

This song is about two best friends who are too much in love but can neither express nor submit to it. V (BTS) has sung the OST and his encapsulating voice is another add-on to the music and lyrics. A perfect love ballad. On Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, V became the first Korean solo artist to climb to the top spot with this song.

“Fall in You” (True Beauty)

Ha Sungwoon, often considered as one of the vocal kings in the Korean music industry has done this soulful rendition from the highly popular K-drama True Beauty. The song speaks of ‘Lee Suho’s’ (Cha Eunwoo) longing for his beloved ‘Im Jukyung’ (Mun Kayoung) quite evident from the lyrics, “Fall in you/Now I finally know/Fall in you/I’m waiting for you/Fall in you/You are my destiny/The one person who is my star.” If you’re searching for a soulful romantic number, your search ends here.

Here Always” (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha)

Seungmin of Stray Kids has performed “Here Always” as part of the OST for yet another hit K-drama series, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. The ballad was released alongside a music video featuring a montage from the TV series with Kim Seonho and Shin Mina, as well as shots of the K-pop idol’s recording session.

Orbit” (The King: Eternal Monarch)

On April 19, 2020, MAMAMOO’s Hwasa aka Ahn Hyejin amazed fans and followers by joining the original soundtrack lineup of SBS’s The King: Eternal Monarch starring Lee Minho and Kim Goeun and others, releasing her first-ever solo OST named “Orbit”.  The soundtrack is a lovely piece of music, and Hwasa’s soothing voice adds to the appeal. The song’s lyrics are equally captivating and reflect a lover’s desire and will power to stay by his/her beloved.

“In Your Time” (It’s Okay To Not Be Okay)

Lee Suhyun of AKMU has sung this soft romantic number from 2020’s one of the best Korean dramas, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, in which an antisocial children’s book author (Seo Yeaji) and psychiatric hospital staff (Kim Soohyun) embark on a journey to emotional rehabilitation. The song features a soothing, quiet melody and lyrics that add to the moments of tension and intense emotions in this psychological romance drama.

“Don’t Cry My Love” (Under the Oak Tree)

Cha Eunwoo contributed his voice to the webtoon series Under the Oak Tree’s OST “Don’t Cry My Love” – He sang for the male protagonist ‘Riftan’s’ theme song, expressing his profound love and longing for his lady love, ‘Maximillian Calypse.’ The K-pop sensation and actor entered the worldwide iTunes chart at number 15 with this 2021 ballad.

“Here I Am Again” (Crash Landing on You)

Baek Yerin sang for this OST from the superhit Crash Landing on You. The plot follows a love story between a North Korean army officer, Ri Jeong Hyeok’s (Hyun Bin), and a South Korean businesswoman, Yoon Seri (Son Yejin). Despite her precarious situation, the chaebol heiress and the army commander fall in love when an accident brings her into North Korea. This song captures heartfelt moments of Ri meeting Yoon. It expresses, despite all the chaos, he will always be her home, something she has always missed.

“Stay with Me” (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God)

“Stay with Me” by Punch and Chanyeol (EXO), is the original soundtrack of the 2016 hit television drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. The single considered to be one of the best love songs of all time was released on December 3rd and was the first in a series of chart-topping singles. For his performance in “Stay with Me,” Chanyeol was nominated for the ‘Melon Top 10 Artist Award.’

“For You” (Scarlet Heart Ryeo/ Moon Lovers)

This song by K-pop band EXO’s sub-unit group EXO-CBX including Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin is an all-time favorite among K-drama fans. EXO-CBX is considered to include one of the best vocal line-ups and has done great justice to this number. “For You” was the first among the OSTs of Scarlet Heart Ryeo/Moon Lovers to be released and was highly appreciated and well received by the viewers and listeners. For those who don’t know, Baekhyun also acted in this period drama.

Everytime” (Descendants of The Sun)

Chen (EXO) and Punch’s song “Everytime” is about declaring one’s love. This love hit has the right combination of words, music, and vocals. The moments of ‘Yoo Shijin’ (Song Joongki) and ‘Kang Moyeon”s (Song Hyekyo) blossoming love are reflected in the lyrics, “Every time I see you/ When I see your eyes/ My heart continues fluttering/ You’re my destiny/ The one person I want to protect until the end of the world…”
